Sort a year of UPI and card transactions into categories and show where the money goes.
The brief
Most people cannot say how much they spend on food delivery or subscriptions in a month. Build a tool that reads a year of transactions, sorts each one into a category with rules the user can edit, and shows a monthly spending summary with trends. Good looks like: sensible categories for most transactions, an easy way to fix the rest, and charts a non-technical user understands.
What you will build
- Generate or load a year of realistic transactions
- Clean merchants, dates and amounts
- Categorise with editable rules, then measure coverage
- Summarise spending by month and category
- Build a simple dashboard with trends and alerts
