Power plant output model

Predict a combined-cycle power plant's output from the ambient conditions.

The brief

A gas power plant's output changes with temperature, pressure and humidity. The plant needs an accurate model of full-load output to plan how much power it can promise the grid. Good looks like: a low-error model, the effect of each condition explained, and an output calculator for the operators.

What you will build

  1. Explore the relationship between conditions and output
  2. Train linear and non-linear regression models
  3. Compare errors with cross-validation
  4. Explain the effect of temperature and humidity
  5. Build a simple output calculator
