Urban air-quality early warning for Indian cities

Forecast pollution levels a day ahead and warn residents before air turns unhealthy.

The brief

Indian cities see dangerous pollution spikes, especially in winter. A city administration wants a one-day-ahead AQI forecast for each station, with warnings for schools and hospitals when air is expected to turn unhealthy. Good looks like: forecasts that catch most bad-air days, an analysis of what drives spikes, and a warning page residents could use.

What you will build

  1. Clean station data and handle missing readings
  2. Compute AQI and explore seasonal and city patterns
  3. Add weather data as features
  4. Train and compare forecasting models; focus on bad-air days
  5. Build a warning dashboard with a map
  6. Report the drivers of pollution and policy suggestions
