Warehouse robot fleet route planner

Plan collision-free routes for several warehouse robots and measure how many orders per hour they complete.

The brief

A warehouse with ten robots needs them to cross a grid without blocking one another. Build a simulator and a multi-robot path planner, compare a simple method with a smarter one, and show how throughput changes as robots are added. Good looks like: no collisions in 1,000 simulated orders, a clear plot of throughput against fleet size, and the point where more robots stop helping.

What you will build

  1. Build a grid warehouse and an order generator
  2. Plan single-robot paths with A*
  3. Add rules to avoid collisions and deadlocks
  4. Compare with a basic first-come method
  5. Plot orders per hour against fleet size
  6. Recommend a fleet size
